Medical single-use gloves are required during patient procedures, except for during surgical procedures in which case sterile surgical single-use gloves are required. With respect to artificial nails, confirmed disease transmission has not occurred in the dental setting. However it is generally recommended that artificial nails not be worn when wearing gloves and treating patients, to avoid the risk of loss of glove integrity and disease transmission.
